Is there a minimum age for kit hire on Llyn Padarn?

There is no minimum age for kit hire but it's worth considering the smallest wetsuits we have will fit an average 5 year old. The supervision and safety of the group members becomes the responsibility of the person who made the booking who also needs to be over 18 years old.

Can I take my dog on the kayak or paddleboard at Snowdonia Watersports?

We are happy for customers to take pets out on the water using our kayaks and paddleboards. We trust you understand that the session dynamics will change if you are paddling with your pet and if the session is cut short due to the pet not enjoying it there is no refund option. Please also note that we don't provide any safety equipment for pets. 

Do I need to book kit hire at Snowdonia Watersports in advance?

Our online booking system allows you to book well in advance of your visit, this means you can plan your trip more easily. If you arrive in Llanberis without a booking you will still be required to use the online booking system and you may have to wait for a scheduled session to begin. The later you leave your booking the less likely it will be that you get the equipment you need and the time you want it.

Is there a fee to launch my own kayak or paddleboard on Llyn Padarn?

If you are paddling in a private / recreational capacity there is no launch fee on Llyn Padarn. There are various places to park your car around the lake with associated parking fees, please park responsibly.

Where are you based?

We are located on the shore of Llyn Padarn in Llanberis. Our facility is approximately 50 metres away from the water'e edge. We are on Apple and Google maps, please search for us using Snowdonia Watersports. Our post code is LL55 4EL. If you are driving here please consider parking may be difficult on busy summer days. The Sherpa is a park and ride bus service operating in the local area which may be helpful if you want to use public transport or need to park elsewhere.
